Insect lab supplies are an important part of collecting insects. You’ve collected you insect and put them in the freezer to set them aside for a later date only to find them brittle and even crushed when you go to prepare them. This can be very frustrating. The proper insect lab supplies can prevent all those headaches. Insects can become too brittle to handle even a day or to after collecting them. Putting them in the freezer right away can help but even the freezer will dehydrate your insects in a relatively short time leaving them difficult to handle. Storing the insect in alcohol can make it even worse if you are not planning to keep the insect in alcohol for permanent display. Appendage relaxing fluid is a must have item for anyone who collects insects and is not going to permanently display the specimen in alcohol. Also butterfly spreading/mounting boards, insect mounting pins, insect relaxing syringes and display cases need to be in your insect collecting tool box to name a few.
